James Ewing Rhodes2 (Alex.1) was born March 21, 1818 in Tennessee, and died December 3, 1897 in Hurricane Township, Fayette County, Illinois. He married Elizabeth Reeves, daughter of James Reeves, on January 9, 1845 in Fayette County, Illinois. After her death, he married Mary A. (Hicks) Harris, widow of Alfred Greenberry Harris and daughter of James Thomas Hicks and Catherine Harris3, Wooten2, Isaac1) on October 12, 1855 in Fayette County, Illinois. She was born March 16, 1824 in Tennessee, and died December 12, 1897 in Hurricane Township, Fayette County, Illinois. Their children are listed under her name in Part III, Chapter 8.2, Descendants of Mary A. Hicks. |

William Madison Rhodes3 (Jas. E.2, Alex.1) was born August 6, 1846 Fayette County, Illinois, and died April 3, 1902. He was buried in Craig Cemetery, Hurricane Township, Fayette County, Illinois. He was married twice. He married Caroline Baldwin July 25, 1865 in Fayette County, Illinois. After her death, he married Delia Ann Watson, daughter of Daniel Watson, on August 8, 1867 in Fayette County, Illinois. Delia was born in September 1857 in Indiana. They were living in Hurricane Township, Fayette County, Illinois when the censuses were taken in 1870, 1880, and 1900. |

Levi Madison Rhodes4, (Wm. M.3, Jas. E.2, Alex.1) was born May 13, 1870 in Fayette County, Illinois, and died November 24, 1933. He was married twice. He married Lulu C. Hamblen, daughter of John William Hamblen and Mary Elizabeth Sowder, on March 19, 1899. She was born February 26, 1879 in Jackson Township, Brown County, Indiana, and died April 19, 1907 near Assumption, Christian County, Illinois. He married his second wife, Elizabeth Ann "Birdie" Lawrence, on February 19 1918. She died in July 1931. |
