      Many years ago, Don Corbett called at the home of Walter Harris Toberman in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr Toberman is a grandson of Wooten Harris, son of Isaac Harris of Meherrin Parish, Brunswick County, Virginia, and Don wished to obtain some family history data from him. Mr. Toberman was not at home when Don called, but his wife was kind enough to let him copy data from the records her husband had collected on the Harris Family. My sister, Deon Rasmussen corresponded with Don Corbett in 1957, and he promised to send her a copy of the data he obtained from Mr. Toberman on Wooten's and Zachariah Harris's family lines. After Deon's death, I wrote to Mr. Corbett and he sent me a copy of the data he had on Zachariah Harris's descendants. Mr. Toberman was Secretary of State for Missouri from 1949 until his death on February 13, 1960.

He was married twice. He and his first wife, Irene Colvin, were married on December 13, 1905, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. Irene was born August 6, 1881, in Payson, Utah County, Utah, and died April 15, 1912, in North Atlantic Ocean, a victim of the Titanic disaster. Walter married his second wife, Anna Dean, on November 11, 1914, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. Anna was born June 6, 1884, at Flaunden, Buckinghamshire, England, and died September 6, 1960, at Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona.

He was born December 16, 1866 in Salem, Utah County, Utah, and died on July 13, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Four years after Mercy's death, John married her younger sister, Zina Christine (HARRIS) FURNER, who had been a widow for seven years at that time. (NOTE: the discrepancy between date of Mercy's death and date of her second child's birth has not been resolved.)

She was married three times. Her first marriage was to George Thomas Furner, son of William FURNER and Sarah Ann OSTLER, on October 18, 1893 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. He was born June 3, 1868 in Nephi, Juab County, Utah, and died June 3, 1902 in West Tintic, Juab County, Utah. Later she married John Thomas Dennis, the former husband of her late sister, Mercy Ann, on October 9, 1909 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He preceeded her in death and she later married Irving Llewellyn Pratt on October 6, 1943. He was the son of Moroni PRATT and Caroline BEEBE. He was born March 17, 1873 in Salt Lake City, UT, and died November 25, 1946 Provo, Utah County, Utah. There were no children from this marriage.
