Mahala Hicks4 (Cath. Harris3, Wooten2, Isaac1) was born January 18, 1826, in Maury County, Tennessee. She married James Henderson Harris, on October 20, 1842, in Fayette County, Illinois. He died a month after they were married on November 20, 1842. He was a brother of Alfred Greenberry Harris, who married her sister, Mary A. "Polly" Hicks, and the son of Ancil Mancil Harris3 (Zach.2, Isaac1) and Keziah Veatch. James Henderson Harris was born November 11, 1820, in Humphreys County, Tennessee. They had no children. Mahala then married Isham Jehu Hicks on December 6, 1849, in Fayette County, Illinois. He is the son of Buttler C. Hicks, and was born in about 1829 in Tennessee. Researchers have not found any relationship between Buttler C. Hicks and James Thomas Hicks. Mahala died January 20, 1879, in Fayette County, Illinois, and was buried in Hicks Cemetery, (Little Hickory Cemetery) there. |

Drucilla P. Hicks5 (Mahala4, Cath. Harris3, Wooten2, Isaac1) was born in Blueville, Christian County, Illinois in 1851; she was age nine when the 1860 census for Christian County, Illinois was taken. She married William Ewing Stokes, son of Jasper N. Stokes and Elizabeth Rhodes3 (Thos2, Alex.1) on August 18, 1875 in Montgomery County, Illinois. He was born January 27, 1853 in Nokomis, Montgomery County, Illinois. |
