Descendants of Martha HarrisChapter 2 of Part III, Descendants of Wooten HarrisBy Garda M. Hodgson |
|
Martha "Patsy" Harris3 (Wooten2, Isaac1) was born October 16, 1786, in that part of Burke County, North Carolina that became part of Rutherford County, after 1795. She married John Angel on January 3, 1811 in Rutherford County. He was born about 1786, and died in 1863 in Marion County, Arkansas. The information on this family was sent to me by Elizabeth Reynolds whose husband, Leo Reynolds, is a descendant of John Angel and Martha Harris. There is a record of four children for this couple. Their first three children probably were born in Rutherford County, North Carolina, and the last child probably was born in Hickman County, Tennessee. |

James Angel4 (Martha Harris3, Wooten2, Isaac1) was born about 1813 probably in Rutherford County, North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Ward about 1832 in Hickman County, Tennessee. They had fifteen children. The Family Bible had been in the possession of their granddaughter, Jennie Jershua Frances Potter, daughter of Abner Wright Potter and Elizabeth Angel. She died in about 1853, then the Family Bible was found by other members of the family. It contained the names and birthdates of all their children. |

Mary Jane Angel4 (James4, Martha Harris3, Wooten2, Isaac1) was born October 23, 1838 in Hickman County, Tennessee. She was married twice. Her first husband was John Riggins, and she later married Stephen Casey. |
